Predators Movie Review


 I saw PREDATORS not on it's premiere night but, on a special screening on SM Megamall. This is when SM Cinema launch the SM Online Tickets. I think I need to post this movie review so I can test my new way of doing movie reviews :)

Anyway, It is the third film in the Predator franchise, following Predator (1987), Predator 2 (1990), and the crossover films Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).

PLOT: 6/10
The film follows Royce (Adrien Brody), a mercenary, who wakes up finding himself falling from the sky into a jungle. Once on the ground, he meets other people who have arrived there in the same manner, all of whom have questionable backgrounds, except for a doctor (Topher Grace). As the film progresses, the group discovers that they are on an alien planet that acts as a game reserve to which they are being hunted by a merciless race of aliens known as Predators.

CAST: 7/10
Aside from Adrien Brody which I think is a miscast on this movie, I think all cast is perfect. I especially liked Alice Braga and Laurence Fishburne's role. Danny Trejo from the Anaconda and Con-air fame is here too.

MUSIC SCORE: 4/10
The music score adds up to the movie's boring factor. I really don't know but I'm looking for something that I don't find in this movie. It didn't live to my expectation.

SPECIAL EFFECTS/CGI: 8/10
Superb. I really liked it especially when the Predators use it's weapon against the enemy. I think this movie should be 3D, which is the fad now so kids will not be bored :)

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS MOVIE: Aside from the special effects used,  I don't find anything likable. Oh! i like how the Predators looks like, it's so kick-ass!

WHAT I DONT LIKE ABOUT THIS MOVIE: It's predictable. It has no ending, probably because they're having a sequel for it. Adrien Brody is not fit for the role it's too forced and it's too boring. There's something missing in this movie. I think I expect a lot on this one so I end up unsatisfied.

Stunning Visual Effects in "World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles"

I n Columbia Pictures' sci-fi action-thriller “World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles,” the City of Angels is destroyed by unknown, alien forces… and visual effeccts supervisor Everett Burrell.
