The film is set in the slums of Manila where law enforcement is rare. Shot in black-and-white to the relentless punk rock energy of ’80s Filipino punk icon Bobby Balingit (The Wuds) and the postmodern art-punk heroes The Brockas, the camera follows the lives of the youth as they scavenge for a living while still managing to play around. Images of riot and poverty are set against the background of a loud musical score that makes the film wild, pulsating and certainly punk, while casting a tenderly poetic eye on its su

Travel Safely

With that swine flu (also known as H1N1) spreading from country to country everyone of us must have  Travel Accident Insurance  which will assure one has health coverage when traveling outside of their home country. 2012, We Were Warned

Image
Centuries ago, the Maya left us their calendar, with a clear end date and all that it implies. By 2012, we'll know -- we were warned. In 2009, American scientist Adrian Helmsley travels to India to meet his friend Satnam, who has discovered that neutrinos from a massive solar flare have penetrated the Earth and are causing the temperature of its core to increase rapidly. Adrian returns to Washington D.C. to inform White House Chief of Staff Carl Anheuser and US President Thomas Wilson that this will instigate a chain of events that will bring about the end of the world. At the 36th G8 summit in 2010 , other heads of state and heads of government are made aware of the situation. They collaborate to begin a secret project intended to ensure the continuity of human life, strategically choosing 400,000 people for admission on a series of gigantic arks to be constructed in the Himalayas. To help fund the venture, additional individuals are allowed to purchase tickets for one billio

"Biyaheng Lupa", A Different Kind of Journey

Image
A bus takes-off from urban Manila to the rural southeastern side of the country, carrying a group of  mixed passengers from all walks of life, each one has a personal story to tell and they are telling it in their own voice. During the long journey, as the passengers mentally sort out their past & their future, things happen in the present, by choice or by providence, that make their journey memorable—the bus blows a tire, a song elicits tears, a butterfly causes commotion, a picture gets lost, someone's head is stoned, some hearts are broken, some mended. The bus ride poetizes the life journey and poses questions on issues of life and death and where exactly the line is drawn between free will and destiny.

More Than A Game, A Docu About LeBron James

Image
I just got home from Cinema 3 of SM Megamall where I watched "More Than A Game", a documentary that follows NBA superstar LeBron James & his 4 other  talented teammates through the trials & tribulations of high school basketball in Ohio & LeBron James' journey to fame. Aside from the NBA superstar the film also features   Sian Cotton , Dru Joyce III , Willie McGee , Romeo Travis  & their coach, Dru Joyce II . 5 young & talented basketball players from Akron, Ohio star in this remarkable true-life coming of age story about uncommon friendship in the face all too common adversities. Coached by a charismatic but inexperienced player’s father, and led by future NBA superstar LeBron James, the “Fab Five’s” improbable 7-year journey leads them from a decrepit inner-city gym to the doorstep of a national high school championship. Along the way, the close-knit team is repeatedly tested—both on and off the court—as LeBron James ’ exploding worldwide celeb

Gotta Love SM City Marilao

Image
Remember that contest that I joined last September 19? Well I wanna let you all know that I won that supposed to be 'the best design in PhotoShop' contest but turn-out to be a popularity contest because the contest is based on votes & not on aesthetics. Good thing for me because I'm not really good at designing stuffs. When I saw the announcement post , I'm really ecstatic at first because I won but seeing the contest host's post with words like "disappointed", "effortless", "a huge mistake" & some post on his FaceBook that says "di deserving ung nanalo. haha tsk" it really hurts me. I mean come on, who wouldn't be hurt if you read that? Yup! They are right that my entry is " basura " compare to their contest entry but I'm really surprised that there are some people that would go some miles just to hurt other people just to feel good about themselves. Kelvin even said sorry to me thru e-mail afte

Sad News

Image
My cousin informed me thru YM that my Lola is dead na raw. It's so sad news, lalo pa ngayon na di ko siya madadalaw dun because of some circumstances. Naalagaan din ako ni Lola nung maliit pa ako pero mas close ako dun sa grandma ko sa mother side. I always see her as a very mahinhin, typical of a lola. (hehe, kabaligtaran siya ng Lola ko sa mother side, outgoing kase yun) She never scolded me. She loves me that much that why I'm sure I will missed her. I don't know but parang nanlamig ako nung marinig ko yung news. It makes me really worried. Bigla kong na-imagine if mawala yung mga mahahalaga sa buhay ko. I hope it doesn't happen. Well sana nga. Kaya, ikaw habang may Lola ka pa show him na you really love her hindi yung paparamdam mo nalang kapag huli na.

Blogging Tips: How To Create a Favicon?

Image
According to Wikipedia: A favicon (short for favorites icon), also known as a website icon, shortcut icon, url icon, or bookmark icon is a 16×16 pixel square icon associated with a particular website or webpage. BlogSpot [ Blogger.com ] has it's own but it's so boring. It's the 'B' logo with the orange background just like the picture above. But we can change that it's one of the perks here on Blogger.com we can customize our blog to the full extent unlike in free WordPress blog. Okay first step: Go find your own picture & we will convert it to an icon. Go to this website to convert it. What picture to choose? Anything it can be your own photo, your blog logo or even a photo of your grandma. Upload your pic, then click DOWNLOAD. Now, upload it to some free 'photo hosting' website. I tried it on TinyPic & it worked for me. Then log-in to your Blogger account, Click LAY-OUT then EDIT HTML. Press Ctrl + F then find this code: </b:sk

Well looking at the bright side it's still six months so it's a feat for me considering na di ko naman naranasan yung ganito kahabang relationship before.
