Warner Reveals "Hangover Part II" Character Posters

T he wildpack is back in “The Hangover Part II” ! And Warner Bros. welcomes the gang back with a rollout of the film's character posters individually featuring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong...and one non-human star! “The Hangover Part II” is director Todd Phillips’s follow-up to 2009’s smash hit “The Hangover,” which became the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all-time and also won the Golden Globe for Best Film – Comedy or Musical.

C olin Firth's wife, Livia, doesn't believe his Best Actor win at last February's Oscars ceremony will change their life. The 50-year-old star picked up the coveted Best Actor statue for playing a British monarch with a stammering problem in “The King's Speech,” and despite Firth's triumph, his wife insists they will continue to lead a normal life.

G reg Heffley, the kid who made “wimpy” cool, is back in an all-new family comedy film based on the best-selling follow-up novel by Jeff Kinney of the same title “ Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules .” The first motion picture based on Kinney’s work, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” brought to cinematic life the adventures of wisecracking pre-teen Greg Heffley, who must somehow survive the scariest time of anyone’s life….middle school. Zachary Gordon, Devon Bostick, Rachael Harris, Robert Capron, Steve Zahn and most of the cast from “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” return. Now, with the new film, the focus is on Greg’s family, especially his relationship with his older brother, Rodrick. Greg has changed since the first movie. Last year, he was heading into middle school for the first time. This year, he feels more confident and like he’s in control. And now, he’s trying to make inroads with a pretty new girl at school, so he can improve his situation at school even further.

W alt Disney Pictures' “ Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides ” starring Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush and Ian McShane will sail to Philiipine theaters in May 2011. In anticipation of the film's global rollout, Disney shares some interesting, fun facts about the making of this fourth, eagerly awaited “Pirates” saga!

W arner Bros. Pictures announced today that Oscar® winner Marion Cotillard (“La Vie en Rose”) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have joined the cast of “The Dark Knight Rises,” the epic conclusion to the Dark Knight legend. Cotillard will appear as Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham. Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon.

I MAX Corporation and The Walt Disney Studios recently announced a new agreement to release two additional 3D pictures to IMAX theatres in 2011. The titles included are “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” starring Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz, slated for release in the Philippines on May 20 and “Cars 2” on August 24.

K arl Urban (“Star Trek,” “Lord of the Rings”) stars in Columbia Pictures’ new, post-apocalyptic horror thriller “Priest” as Black Hat, the evil leader of the bloodsuckers. He’s a former priest and vampire hunter, but now fancies himself the god of vampires. “Priest” is set in an alternate world -- one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them.

B ritish comic Russell Brand steps up to leading man status as he stars in Warner Bros.' new comedy “Arthur.” In this revamp of the classic ‘80s original, Brand re-invents the role of loveable billionaire Arthur Bach, an irresponsible charmer who has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and the good sense of lifelong nanny Hobson (Helen Mirren) to keep him out of trouble. Now he faces his biggest challenge—choosing between an arranged marriage to ambitious corporate exec Susan (Jennifer Garner), that will ensure his lavish lifestyle, or an uncertain future with the one thing money can’t buy, Naomi (Greta Gerwig), the woman he really loves.

D isney and DreamWorks have just released the first-look images from they're upcoming thriller “Fright Night” starring Colin Farrell (“Alexander”) and Anton Yelchin (“Star Trek,” “Terminator Salvation”). A revamp of the 1985 comedy-horror classic, “Fright Night” is directed by Craig Gillespie (“Lars and the Real Girl”) and also stars Toni Collette (“The Sixth Sense”).

Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Michael Shannon will star in the role of General Zod in director Zack Snyder’s new Superman film, titled “Man of Steel.” Snyder stated, “Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.”

R olling Stone Magazine hails it as “a crowning achievement powered by a dream cast,” while Variety calls it “a stirring, handsomely mounted tale of unlikely friendship.” Indeed, “it's a rare combination of crowd-pleaser and triumphant artistry,” attests the Wall Street Journal.

P aramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the highly anticipated motion picture adaptation of “Thor,” the latest from the Marvel pantheon of legendary super heroes who have inspired generations of readers. The epic adventure “ Thor ” spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the mystical realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. As a result, Thor is banished to Earth, where he is forced to live among humans. When the most dangerous villain of his world sends its darkest forces to invade Earth, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero.

E Emerging new actress Greta Gerwig plays Naomi, a New York City tour guide who shares Arthur’s (Russell Brand) idealism and spontaneity, in Warner Bros.’ new romantic comedy “Arthur.” The independent Naomi sees the billionaire bachelor not only for who he is, but for who he could be, and finally gives him a reason to take charge of his own life.

G reg, the wimpy kid is back on the big screen taller and wiser but still has a lot to deal with to score points against his big brother Rodrick. In the upcoming heartwarming family-oriented movie based on the best-selling book by Jeff Kinney of the same title “Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules,” Greg deals with Rodrick’s attempts to ruin his whole summer. Much like his electrifying drumbeats, Rodrick fries Greg in a series of unprecedented pranks enough to make Greg’s whole summer an episode of fear and embarrassment.

I t’s fair to say that Chris Hemsworth is a great believer in fate. “You never know what’s going to happen, do you?” he grins. “But I guess you have to keep the faith.” You do indeed. It wasn’t so long ago that he was seriously considering giving up on his adventure as an actor seeking work in the cut throat environment of Hollywood and heading back home to Australia but fate clearly had something entirely different in store for this immensely likable young actor.

B ig Momma is back and this time he has big backup: his teenage stepson Trent. Martin Lawrence returns as FBI agent Malcolm Turner and as Turner’s deep-cover alter-ego Big Momma. Turner is joined by Trent (Jackson) as they go undercover at an all-girls performing arts school after Trent witnesses a murder. Posing as Big Momma and as hefty coed Charmaine, they must find the killer before he finds them.

R ecent Best Actor Oscar nominee for “The Social Network,” Jesse Eisenberg voices lead character Blu in “ Rio ,” a 3D comedy adventure about taking a walk on the wild side. From Blue Sky Studios who gave the world the “Ice Age” hit series, “ Rio ” nests on a domesticated rare macaw named Blu (Eisenberg) who has never learned to fly and enjoys a comfy life with his owner and best friend Linda (voiced by Leslie Mann). Blu’s journey begins in the not-so-domesticated Brazilian jungle, where as a nestling, he’s experiencing the joyous musical melodies of hundreds of birds flying and swooping around him. The sounds inspire the baby Blu to initiate his first attempt at flight, which is abruptly cut short when he and several other birds are captured by smugglers.

A ction superstar Jason Statham (“The Transporter” and “Crank” film series) provides the voice of Tybalt, in Touchstone Pictures' new animated comedy “Gnomeo & Juliet” in which Shakespeare’s revered tale gets a comical, off-the-wall makeover featuring garden gnomes as principal characters. Directed by Kelly Asbury (“Shrek 2”) and showcasing both classic and original songs by Elton John, “Gnomeo & Julliet” also features the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as the lovestruck gnomes who have as many obstacles to overcome as their quasi namesakes when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors. But with plastic pink flamingos and thrilling lawnmower races in the mix, can this young couple find lasting happiness?

J ust got home from the premiere night of RIO at Cinema 3 of Glorietta 4. They also call it a "RIO Family Day Screening" because aside from the cocktails, fun and games, there were ice creams, cotton candy, french fries, cereals and a photobooths too. Not your ordinary movie screening indeed! =) I'm really looking forward to this movie, especially upon knowing that this film is from the same makers of "Ice Age." Here's a short synopsis of RIO : Blu (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg) is a rare species of Blue Macaw,who is a resident at a bookstore in Moose Lake, Minnesota, and the last male of his kind. When scientists learn that another macaw was spotted in South America and that the macaw, Jewel (voiced by Anne Hathaway) is female, they take him out of Minnesota and send him to Rio de Janeiro to meet her.

R omeo and Juliet’ is one of the greatest love stories of all time,” says Elton John, who serves as executive producer and provides the music for Touchstone Pictures' new animated comedy “Gnomeo & Juliet.” “And garden gnomes are huge in many countries throughout the world. We thought this would be a really good idea.” John, a singer, songwriter, musician and humanitarian, teamed up with longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin to provide the soundtrack for the film. “In describing the music, all I can say is that I had to reevaluate myself with any pop sensibilities still lurking in my decidedly un-pop brain,” says Taupin. “Cue some old Beatles circa ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ and voila, that sounded like a good starting point. Gnomes are very poppy, wouldn’t you agree? Colorful, energetic and ABBAesque, so it seemed only natural that the songs suit the characters. Guess I just put my pointy hat on and went out into the garden.”

W arner Bros.’ new comedy “Arthur” brings the inspired pairing of charismatic British comedian Russell Brand with Oscar®-winning actress Helen Mirren, in roles based on the 1981 performances of Dudley Moore as Arthur, and Sir John Gielgud as his strait-laced butler. “Russell and Helen bring their own style and perspective to these two characters in a way that makes you feel you’re seeing old friends in a different light,” states director Jason Winer. “If there’s one actor on the planet who can re-invent this role for a new generation, it’s Russell Brand. And with Hobson as a nanny, played by Helen Mirren, instead of a butler, the idea of the two of them together was irresistible.”

O wen Wilson stars as Rick, a suburban dad easily distracted by beautiful women, in New Line Cinema's raunchy comedy “Hall Pass.” “Most guys can’t help noticing a good-looking woman walk by, but some of them do a better job at being subtle about it,” explains Wilson. “With others, like Rick, it’s like they have their heads on a swivel.” In the film, best friends Rick and Fred (Jason Sudeikis) have both been married for a long time. They love their wives, but, like some guys, just can’t help checking out every other woman who crosses their paths. Fed up with this habitual rubber-necking, their wives (Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate) take a bold approach to revitalize their marriages by granting their husbands a “hall pass”: one week of freedom to do whatever they want, no questions asked. Seven days to see exactly what it is out there they think they’re missing…or stop looking once and for all.

A ly Michalka, who recently appeared in “Easy A” opposite Emma Stone and stars in the hit TV series “Hellcats,” now plays Tracy, the high-energy party girl in Columbia Pictures’ new suspense thriller “The Roommate.” A finely tuned tale of madness and role reversal, “The Roommate” is packed with ingenious twists and heart-stopping surprises as Sara (Minka Kelly), a naïve college freshman begins to suspect that her roommate, Rebecca (Leighton Meester) is not what she appears to be.
