SM City Baliwag, Government Agencies Collect River Waste in Celebration of Int’l Coastal Cleanup Day

In observance of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, SM City Baliwag, in collaboration with government agencies and institutions, participated in a cleanup drive along the Angat River trench located between Barangay Tibag and Barangay Poblacion, at Baliwag City in Bulacan. Organized by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), the activity aims to increase awareness on the importance of proper waste disposal and the role of the community in the protection and conservation of wetland areas. Together with the volunteers from SM City Baliwag, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and NU Baliwag, the event yielded significant results as the said groups collected the most common types of garbage found on water bodies, such as cigarette butts, food wrappers, take-out containers, metal and plastic bottle caps, fishing nets...

Dre has a hard time making friends at first but he does make a connection with his classmate Mei Ying – and the feeling is mutual – until cultural differences make such a friendship impossible. Even worse, Dre makes an enemy of the class bully, Cheng. Dre knows only a little karate, and in the land of kung fu, Cheng puts “the karate kid” on the floor with ease. Feeling alone in a foreign land, Dre has no friends to turn to except the maintenance man, named Mr. Han ( Jackie Chan ).

There are few movies that lend themselves more perfectly to 3D; from the Death Star trench run to the Tatooine Pod races, the Star Wars Saga has always delivered an entertainment experience that is completely immersive. Presented by Twentieth Century Fox and Lucasfilm Ltd., the cutting edge conversion will take that immersion to the next thrilling level, with Industrial Light & Magic supervising the project. Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace is expected to be released theatrically in 2012.
