Ryan Kwanten, from "True Blood" to “LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS”

Image
P opularly known as the amorous Jason Stockhouse in the HBO original hit series True Blood, Ryan Kwanten now provides the voice of wayward owl, Kludd, in Warner Bros.’ fantasy adventure in 3D, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. The film follows Soren (voice of Jim Sturgess), a young owl enthralled by his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’ Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones. While Soren dreams of someday joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd, scoffs at the notion, and yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father’s favor from his younger sibling. But Kludd’s jealousy has terrible consequences—causing both owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the Pure Ones.

In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history. But for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole Movie Review

Image
I watched Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole for two times. One in the advance screening in Cinema 1, SM Megamall courtesy of 99.5 RT and on it's premiere night at IMAX , SM North EDSA the next day. Why? I just want to know what's the difference between the Digital 3D and the 3D at IMAX. When I first saw the trailer of this film, it really caught my attention because of the superb graphic. It has a nice plot too, which makes the movie more interesting. So that means, I have high expectation on this film.

Holly and Messer have always tolerated, rather than enjoyed, each other’s company, but now they find themselves co-guardians to baby girl, Sophie. Jim Sturgess is the Voice Behind Soren in “LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS” (Opens Sept 24)

Image
J im Sturgess (21, Across the Universe), who voices Soren, the hero owl in Warner Bros.’ fantasy adventure “ Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole ,” was readily drawn to the project because of its director, Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen). Image
J ake Moore ( Shia LaBeouf ) may be worth millions at a ludicrously young age but he is also keen to do some good in the world by investing in green energy amid a fascinating world intoxicated by the sheer thrill of as much money as possible. In Oliver Stone’s “ Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps ,” LaBeouf’s Jake is a honest trader who gets embroiled in ominous financial dealings that is bound to spin dangerously out of control. With Michael Douglas’ Award-wining role Gordon Gekko out of prison and Josh Brolin’s Breton James, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” multiplies greed and avarice where there is no such thing as ‘enough.’ “Wall Street 2” steers Jake Moore (LaBeouf), a smart young proprietary trader into making millions at the venerable Keller Zabel Investments, run by Louis Zabel ( Frank Langella ), Jake’s mentor. 'Going The Distance' Movie Review

Image
I've watched Going The Distance on a special screening at SM Megamall, just before it's showing.  Before I watched this movie, I don't expect that much,  in short I lower my expectation. I expect this movie to fail just like The Bounty Hunter & Love Happens. PLOT: 7 / 10 The film revolves around a couple who try to maintain a long-distance relationship, one in New York City, New York and the other in San Francisco, California. The film will also include a cameo by British band The Boxer Rebellion. CAST & CHARACTERS 8 / 10 Though at first look I don't really like Justin Long and Drew Barrymore as a couple (they're real life couple) as the story unfolds, you will say that they have chemistry. Christina Applegate's role as Drew's sister is so funny, she's exaggerated but funny at the same time. She and Charlie Day brings most of the funny part in this movie. Charlie Day's love to drink beer in the toilet too :)

Newport Cinemas at Newport Mall in Resorts World Manila

They currently have four cinemas and one of those is the Newport ULTRA Cinem a where you can experience twin-seater, fully reclining seats and unlimited popcorn & drinks served by their personal butlers. If you ran out of popcorn or drinks you just have to request through a call button allocated per pod for your personalized service. Cool eh? Resorts World Manila is located just infront of  NAIA3 in Pasay City. If you are near the MRT Taft Station, you can go the bus terminal at McDo (Taft EDSA) and look for the shuttle bus with "NAIA Terminal 1,2, 3 Loop" sign. Just tell the driver you're going to Resorts World :) For inquiries and ticket ...

Vampires Suck Movie Review

Image
I'm not a fan of the Twilight Saga. In fact I haven't see any of the 3 film, so I'm not saying I'm Team Jacob or Team Edward that's for fantards only :) So I'm so excited to this movie which I saw on a special press screening in Glorietta 3 :) PLOT: 8/10 Becca Crane (Jenn Proske) moves to Sporks to live with her clueless father, Sheriff Frank (Diedrich Bader), after her mother starts an affair with Tiger Woods. Meanwhile killings have been happening to random people and the number one suspects are the Kardashians. Becca is quickly befriended by many students at her new high school, but she is intrigued by the mysterious and aloof Edward Sullen (Matt Lanter), who perplexes her during their time in the biology class. Later, Becca is nearly struck by a van in the school parking lot. Edward inexplicably moves from several feet away and stops the vehicle with a student without any harm to himself or Becca, the student being badly injured. He later refuses to exp...

Predators Movie Review

Image
I saw PREDATORS not on it's premiere night but, on a special screening on SM Megamall. This is when SM Cinema launch the SM Online Tickets. I think I need to post this movie review so I can test my new way of doing movie reviews :) Anyway, It is the third film in the Predator franchise, following Predator (1987), Predator 2 (1990), and the crossover films Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007). PLOT: 6/10 The film follows Royce ( Adrien Brody ), a mercenary, who wakes up finding himself falling from the sky into a jungle. Once on the ground, he meets other people who have arrived there in the same manner, all of whom have questionable backgrounds, except for a doctor ( Topher Grace ). As the film progresses, the group discovers that they are on an alien planet that acts as a game reserve to which they are being hunted by a merciless race of aliens known as Predators.

Ben Affleck in “THE TOWN”

Image
There are over 300 bank robberies in Boston every year. And a one-square-mile neighborhood in Boston, called Charlestown, has produced more bank and armored car robbers than anywhere in the U.S. It is against that backdrop that Warner Bros.’ new gripping thriller The Town is set. In the film, Doug MacRay ( Ben Affleck ), is a prolific bank robber but he is not cut from the same cloth as his fellow thieves. Unlike them, Doug had a chance at success, a chance to escape following in his father’s criminal footsteps. Instead he became the leader of a crew of ruthless bank robbers, who pride themselves on taking what they want and getting out clean. The only family Doug has are his partners in crime, especially Jem (Jeremy Renner), who, despite his dangerous, hair-trigger temper, is the closest thing Doug ever had to a brother.

Director Ryan Murphy Talks About “EAT PRAY LOVE”

Image
For Nip/Tuck and Glee creator Ryan Murphy — a man who likes change — discovering the best-selling memoir Eat Pray Love proved a real boon. The 44-year-old filmmaker read the book upon its 2006 release and felt an immediate connection. He’d even go as far as saying that the book altered his life. “It spoke to me on such a personal level,” begins Murphy, the man who adapted the screenplay and directed the cinematic incarnation starring Julia Roberts . “I read it as a fan, I had just come through a terrible break up, and what it said to me is that it is never too late to reinvent yourself. It is never too late to try to be happy. If you are in a bad relationship try and get out of it and if you don’t like where you are living, try and change it.” The book, and indeed the film, tells the true-life tale of Elizabeth Gilbert , a successful travel writer who falls out of love with her husband and suffers a painful divorce. Gnawed at by guilt, she takes a year out, heading first to Ro...
