Cinco Movie Review

Image
I was so happy when I received a text that I will have a seat at the CINCO premiere night aside from the pre-party of the movie that I also attended at Guilly's Island in Tomas Morato. Because this is the first time Star Cinema invited me to a premiere, because the previous two that I attended are just presscons. Not that I complaining though. Did I? LOL This is also the first time I saw a literally jampacked premiere night. I mean there are so many people standing at the sides. I also would like to thank Star Cinema because there's a seat there with my name on it, cool eh? It's reserved especially for me! It's also fun to hear all those fanatics screams their lungs out when their idol appeared on the screen! and I'm really surprised that there's a lot of banners/tarpaulins displayed by fans. It's like seeing those Twilight fantards :)

'The Karate Kid' Movie Review

Image
When I heard about The Karate Kid, I said to myself, "What?! another remake!" We must admit it, almost all movie remakes sucks, only a few really managed to pull it off. The Karate Kid is definitely a classic movie, especially for us cousins. We grew up mimicking his moves known as the crane kick/bicycle kick. To do that, you must put both arms to your sides, raise your arms, and collapses your wrists over your head. Then, simultaneously raise your left knee up to about stomach level. Then wait for your opponent to come forward, then you leaps off your right foot, simultaneously dropping your left foot to the ground, and kicks your opponent with your right foot. LOL! I tried to look for details of that film online, and I'm surprised that the first film is released back in 1984 (I'm not yet born on that year) My cousin is really a huge fan of this movie saga, he has all the copy from I to III. Sadly, he's now in a place we called heaven, so he can't watch thi...

'A Nightmare on Elm Street' Movie Review

Image
The dreams of the residents of a small suburban town are haunted by a demonic soul bent on revenge. As people die in their sleep, a group of young students are determined to stay up and figure out how to beat the demon and save their town. Starring Jackie Earle Haley, Katie Cassidy, Kellan Lutz, Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Thomas Dekker, Freddy Krueger is back to bring A Nightmare on Elm Street again! This remake is directed by Michael Bayers who did some music videos for My Chemical Romance & Green Day. Though he received some negative reviews on his first commercial film, I think that he did well, and it translated to box office too!  This movie open as #1 in the US.

Kick-Ass Movie Review: I Can't Fly, But I Can Kick Your Ass!

Image
When I saw the trailer of Kick-Ass when I've watch Clash of the Titans at Gateway Cinema weeks ago, it really get's me excited. Luckily, I was able to score some premiere night invites at Cinema 6 of SM Megamall yesterday :) Here's some quick synopsis: Teen geek & comic book fanatic Dave Lizewski (played by Aaron Johnson) makes a totally bizarre but brave decision--- he is going under disguise as a superhero, minus the superpowers. And he’s going to be known as Kick-Ass. Donned in a green and yellow wetsuit bought online, he prowls the city to fight crime. However, he’s not the only superhero out there. The fearless and highly-trained father-daughter crime-fighting duo Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) have been slowly but surely taking down the criminal empire of local Mafioso Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong). Another fledgling superhero joins them by the name of Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), who happens to be Frank’s son. KICK-ASS is...

Jackie Chan is 'The Spy Next Door'

Image
Asian superstar Jackie Chan stars in a new action-comedy bound to give people countless laughs. This is his return to Hollywood after the groundbreaking Forbidden Kingdom he starred in with fellow Asian biggie Jet Li . This time around, the 'protector' is an inactive spy who suddenly finds himself reluctantly in for another mission challenging his espionage skills and high hopes of becoming stepdad to his girlfriends' kids. Lions Gate Films found Jackie Chan the right act for The Spy Next Door as he sensibly fits the role of Bob Ho, an undercover CIA super spy who chooses to settle down with his next-door girlfriend Gillian (Amber Valletta). He spies no more as he focuses himself to win the hearts of his girlfriend's 3 children from a previous relationship—a requirement set by the latter before she agrees to marry him.

More Than A Game, A Docu About LeBron James

Image
I just got home from Cinema 3 of SM Megamall where I watched "More Than A Game", a documentary that follows NBA superstar LeBron James & his 4 other  talented teammates through the trials & tribulations of high school basketball in Ohio & LeBron James' journey to fame. Aside from the NBA superstar the film also features   Sian Cotton , Dru Joyce III , Willie McGee , Romeo Travis  & their coach, Dru Joyce II . 5 young & talented basketball players from Akron, Ohio star in this remarkable true-life coming of age story about uncommon friendship in the face all too common adversities. Coached by a charismatic but inexperienced player’s father, and led by future NBA superstar LeBron James, the “Fab Five’s” improbable 7-year journey leads them from a decrepit inner-city gym to the doorstep of a national high school championship. Along the way, the close-knit team is repeatedly tested—both on and off the court—as LeBron James ’ exploding worldwide celeb...

Gotta Love SM City Marilao

Image
Remember that contest that I joined last September 19? Well I wanna let you all know that I won that supposed to be 'the best design in PhotoShop' contest but turn-out to be a popularity contest because the contest is based on votes & not on aesthetics. Good thing for me because I'm not really good at designing stuffs. When I saw the announcement post , I'm really ecstatic at first because I won but seeing the contest host's post with words like "disappointed", "effortless", "a huge mistake" & some post on his FaceBook that says "di deserving ung nanalo. haha tsk" it really hurts me. I mean come on, who wouldn't be hurt if you read that? Yup! They are right that my entry is " basura " compare to their contest entry but I'm really surprised that there are some people that would go some miles just to hurt other people just to feel good about themselves. Kelvin even said sorry to me thru e-mail afte...
