Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Movie Review
Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films present “Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time,” an epic action-adventure set in the mystical lands of Persia. A rogue prince named Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) reluctantly joins forces with a mysterious princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) and together, they race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time—a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
Directed by Mike Newell (“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”) with a cast that includes Sir Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina, and a screenplay by Boaz Yakin and Doug Miro & Carlo Bernard from a screen story by Jordan Mechner, “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” hits Philippine theaters on May 27, 2010. Rated GP by the MTRCB.
FYI: Dastan means "Champion" or "Hero" in Farsi.
I am so looking forward to this film, so I was so elated when I got a direct invite from SM Cinema via email. Superb CGI, I must say especially when Dastan (played by Jake Gyllanhall) is using that mythical dagger. I think you will hear the word "dagger" more than a hundred times on this film :) Gemma Arterton from the movie Clash of the Titans is also here. There's also a similarity in here roles on both movies, not that I'm complaning though. I really love how he deliver her words, spoken like a true princess.
If you will asked me to rate the movie I would rate it at 7 out of 10. The movie is like those usual good versus evil flick, but it's definitely an eye candy. The death defying stunts, that black snake, the evil Hassansins you should watch out for those.
Let's face it, movies that are based on video games are just mediocre or sometimes ugly and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is different.
Looking forward to seeing this! Now, how do I get to be part of SM Cinemna's roster? heheheh
