T he Weinstein Company's critically-acclaimed crime comedy “ Killing Them Softly ” starring Brad Pitt will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3 and Trinoma) starting Dec. 5. In the film, three dumb guys who think they’re smart rob a Mob-protected card game, causing the local criminal economy to collapse. Pitt plays the enforcer hired to track them down and restore order.

The Guys of "ParaNorman" Scare Up the Screen (Opens Sept 5)

L eading the talented voice cast of Focus Features' new 3D animated comedy “ ParaNorman ” are Kodi Smit-McPhee (“Let Me In”), Casey Affleck (“Ocean's Thirteen”) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (“Superbad”). The acclaimed family film will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas starting Sept. 5. The voice of the film’s 11-year-old hero, Norman Babcock, is provided by Kodi Smit-McPhee, a young Australian actor who in a brief few years has made a big name for himself. While Norman talks to ghosts in order to rid his town of zombies and stop a witch's curse, the film is really a comedy, which was perfect for Smit-McPhee, whose work in recent years has been in fairly dark films. As he told Entertainment Weekly, “my favorite genre is comedy…It’s pretty ironic and funny that I always get these kind of dramatic…movies.”

Experts have debated, books have been written, and scholars have devoted their lives to protecting or debunking theories surrounding the authorship of the most renowned works in English literature. “Anonymous” poses one possible answer, focusing on a time when scandalous political intrigue, illicit romances in the Royal Court, and the schemes of greedy nobles lusting for the power of the throne were brought to light in the most unlikely of places: the London stage.

The film is directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and adapted from James Sallis's 2005 novel of the same name.

Zooey Deschanel Tunes In for "Winnie The Pooh" (Opens Oct 19)

She’s half of the acclaimed band She & Him and the star of the hit new sitcom, “New Girl.” Now, Winnie and Zooey Deschanel come together on the big screen in Walt Disney Animation Studios' all-new adventure “Winnie the Pooh,” which opens exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4 & Greenbelt 3) starting October 19. Deschanel (“(500) Days of Summer”) joins Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood, performing three songs for the film, including her own take on the classic “Winnie the Pooh” theme song, “A Very Important Thing to Do” and the original end-credit song “So Long,” which was written by Deschanel and performed with She & Him bandmate M. Ward. “This has been one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had,” says Deschanel. “And I’ve just been thanking my lucky stars that I was able to work on this movie, because it’s delightful.”

Colin Firth Won't Change Despite Oscar Success of "The King's Speech"

C Carey Mulligan’s breakout performance as a teenage schoolgirl seduced by an older man in “An Education” earned her an Academy Award nomination and led to offers in a string of films most of which she turned down, but “ Never Let Me Go ” was an exception. It was, she says, simply too good an opportunity to pass up. “Never Let Me Go” is a beautiful, hauntingly sad and very faithful adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguru’s 2005 novel directed by Mark Romanek with a screenplay by Alex Garland (author of The Beach).
