DreamWorks Pictures has just released the character banners its new suspense-thriller “Fright Night,” a re-imagining of the 1985 comedy-horror classic. The individual banners feature the main characters played by Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, David Tennant and Imogen Poots.

In the film, senior Charley Brewster (Yelchin) finally has it all—he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl (Poots) in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right— yet no one, including Charley’s mom (Toni Collette), seems to notice! After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charley comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charley has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself.

Opening across the Philippines in September, “Fright Night" is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

Scienterrific Party at Philippine Science Centrum

Last Tuesday, I went to the ' Philippine Science Centrum Christmas Party with Bloggers and Media' held at the Philippine Science Centrum, E-Com Building, Riverbanks Center in Marikina City. This significant event aims to recognize the media’s great participation in the promotion of the Philippine Science Centrum and its science and technology advocacy.

Alice Kingsley, now 19, attends a party at a Victorian estate shortly after the death of her beloved father. Alice spots a white rabbit wearing a waistcoat and pocket watch. In shock and confusion, she runs off into a maze and follows the White Rabbit through it. She eventually tumbles down a rabbit hole into Underland, more commonly referred to as "Wonderland" by its inhabitants. She had visited this place 10 years earlier, but had entirely forgotten about it. She is also told that she is the only one who can slay the Jabberwock, the dragon who terrorizes the inhabitants of Wonderland under the rule of the Red Queen.

T rue Grit is the first movie invite I got from Solar-UIP. They're the one who distribute United International Pictures, Dreamworks and Paramount Pictures' movies here in the Philippines.
