Columbia Pictures has just debuted the teaser trailer of “Evil Dead,” the much anticipated remake of Sam Raimi's 1981 cult-hit horror film “The Evil Dead,” at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnTtPTMyCWU. In the new movie, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

A core cast of young, fresh talent includes Jane Levy (“Suburgatory”) as Mia; Shiloh Fernandez (“Deadgirl,” “Red Riding Hood”) as David; Lou Taylor Pucci (“Carriers”) as Eric; Jessica Lucas (“Cloverfield”) as Olivia and Elizabeth Blackmore (“Legend of the Seeker”) as Natalie.

“Evil Dead” reunites original director Sam Raimi (“Spider-Man” franchise); producer Rob Tapert (“30 Days of Night”) and co-producer Bruce Campbell who also played the Ash character. All three now are back to produce an “Evil Dead” for today's audience that's high on the horror, gore, plot twists and more from director Fede Alvaraez and a screenplay written by Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues.

I was invited by Nuffnang Philippines & Unitel Pictures on The Red Shoes Preview Night at the Podium, last week. The movie may sounds foreign, but it was actually made by Filipinos. It's from the same movie outfit that brought us the hit, Inang Yaya & The Crying Ladies . The Red Shoes is not your usual bubblegum love story, the movie uses a lot of interesting metaphors that makes the film interesting. The choice of Marvin Agustin & Nikki Gil is perfect, I'm not really a fan of these two but after seeing the film, I must say that Nikki Gil is one of those underrated Pinay actresses. Tessie Tomas sure brought up the loud laughs among audience and Iwa Moto brings in the hhmmmm... The story does not really happened in real life, but it makes you feel otherwise. A world class film, I must say. It's gonna worth your every peso.
