DreamWorks Pictures has just shared Hugh Jackman’s call-out video for the Philippines, in connection with the upcoming release of “Real Steel.” The featurette may be viewed on this link: http://youtu.be/Z8WSJsnxjb8.

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Opening across the Philippines in October in IMAX, 2D and regular theaters, “Real Steel” is a DreamWorks Picture to be distributed locally by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

T rue Grit is the first movie invite I got from Solar-UIP. They're the one who distribute United International Pictures, Dreamworks and Paramount Pictures' movies here in the Philippines. The screening took place in the Solar Preview Room in that posh Solar-Century Building in Makati City. Their screening room has the capacity of approximately 60 people, it actually resemble the MyCinema at Greenbelt3. Anyway before I head on to the venue, I already read the synopsis so I know what to expect on the actual screening.
