2nd International Pinoy Expat/OFW Blog Awards (PEBA) Winners

More than 37 OFW Bloggers from 21 countries are vying for the most coveted 2009 Best Expats/OFW Blog Awards . The Pinoy Expats/Overseas Filipino Workers Blog Awards or PEBA , together with Friendster.com , Nokia Philippines in cooperation with Smart Communications , Blas Ople Policy Center , School of Labor and Industrial Relations , University of the Philippines and Western Union ; the award giving body aims to recognize and honor the exemplary work of blogging Pinoy Expats/OFW. The 2nd Annual International PEBA Awards is held on Philamlife Theater , United Nations Ave., Malate, Manila last 27th of December 2009. Red Carpet Ceremony and Press Presentation are conducted prior to the awarding. This year’s theme is “ Filipinos Abroad, Hope of the Nation, Gift to the World” .

A nne Curtis and Luis Manzano paired up, once again on the silver screen via " Who’s That Girl ," Viva Film's opening salvo for 2011. Directed by MMFF 2010 Best Director Wenn V. Deramas, the man behind hit flicks like "Ang Tanging Ina" trilogy and "Petrang Kabayo." Anne Curtis play as Bea, a wallflower, while Luis Manzano is John Eduque, a campus heartthrob who is Bea’s ultimate crush. John hardly takes notice of Bea. But one day, at her lowest, John surprisingly gives Bea a pep talk. This becomes life-changing for her.

A ctor-on-the-rise Jesse Eisenberg plays an under-achieving guy who has to put aside his epic falling out with an ex-bestfriend in order to rob a bank, in Columbia Pictures' new, action-comedy “30 Minutes or Less.” In the film, Nick (Eisenberg) is a small town pizza delivery guy whose mundane life collides with the big plans of two wannabe criminal masterminds (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson). The lowlifes kidnap Nick and strap a time bomb to him – with the promise that they’ll blow him up unless he robs a bank. With only a few hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick enlists the help of his ex-best friend, Chet (Ansari). As the clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous relationship. “Nick is a pizza delivery guy who dropped out of college a few years back and now feels a bit stuck,” says Eisenberg, describing his character. “It takes a bomb getting strapped on him to light a fire under him, so to speak.”

Remember that contest that I joined last September 19? Well I wanna let you all know that I won that supposed to be 'the best design in PhotoShop' contest but turn-out to be a popularity contest because the contest is based on votes & not on aesthetics. Good thing for me because I'm not really good at designing stuffs. When I saw the announcement post , I'm really ecstatic at first because I won but seeing the contest host's post with words like "disappointed", "effortless", "a huge mistake" & some post on his FaceBook that says "di deserving ung nanalo. haha tsk" it really hurts me. I mean come on, who wouldn't be hurt if you read that? Yup! They are right that my entry is " basura " compare to their contest entry but I'm really surprised that there are some people that would go some miles just to hurt other people just to feel good about themselves. OMG! It's my new favorite movie for 2010! Toy Story 3 is sooo good! It was the first thing on my mind when I wake up this morning! If Toy Story 2 is a bigger hit compare to the first Toy movie, the 3rd Toy Story will be the biggest! This will be a big hit at the box office for sure. The movie is now showing on almost all Philippine cinemas nationwide in IMAX 3D , Digital 3D and regular format. I've watched this in IMAX 3D at SM North EDSA on it's premiere night, but I don't see something special. So I'll recommend you just watch it on it's regular format.

He means well, but he just can’t stop listening to his stomach, and those impulses that tell him if he grabs a pie off that table fast enough maybe he’ll get away with it. He’s like a big kid, and I think he represents that part of all of us. He may be a bear, but so much of what he does is pure human nature.”

Yogi has always relied on his quick wit and fast feet to stay one step ahead of irate campers while dodging his long-suffering nemesis, Ranger Smith. But he and Boo Boo are about to face a situation worse than anything Yogi has ever gotten them into… Jellystone Park is being sold!

C olumbia Pictures' 3D action-thriller “ Resident Evil: Retribution ,” the fifth installment of the wildly successful film franchise adaptation of the popular video game series, has been rated PG-13 Without Cuts by the Movie and Television Review & Classification Board (MTRCB). The MTRCB recommended an additional advisory: “The movie contains violence that may not be suitable for young viewers. Strict parental guidance is advised.”
