Red Carpet Premiere of 'Battle For Terra' At SM City North Edsa Cinema 7

When the peaceful inhabitants of the beautiful planet they called Terra come under attack from the last surviving members of humanity adrift in an aging spaceship, the stage is set for an all-out war between the 2 races for control of the said planet. But will an unlikely friendship between a rebellious young Terrian named Mala (which is voiced by Evan Rachel Wood) & an injured human pilot Lt. Jim Stanton (voiced by Luke Wilson) somehow convince their leaders that war is not the answer?



I've read that this film was originally shot in 2D but was made so that a 2nd camera could be added to the movie. After Battle For Terra was shown at festivals & distributors showed an interest in it a small team was hired to render the entire movie again from the perspective of the 2nd camera for a true 3D effect. This film won the Grand Prize for Best Animated Feature at the 2008 Ottawa International Animation Festival.

Call me ignorant or something but this is actually the first 3D movie that I saw. I was about to watch 'Up' because I heard it's in 3D too but things didn't worked out as plan. Anyway 'Battle For Terra' will bring out the kid in you as you watch it & makes you say your "oohhs" & "aaahhs" as you go along because of it's cool 3D effect  you will feel that you are on the movie especially on the climax scene where the two races battle it out for supremacy.  My favorite part on the movie is the part  where I  really feel sad for the Terrans especially when the humans start spraying 'oxygen' on their planet & and they're grasping to breath. You know Terrans can't breath with oxygen it's fatal to them.. Watch the trailer of 'Battle of Terra' below:
