"Toy Story" Gang Back in the Big Screen with "Cars 2"

I n celebration of their recent Oscar® win for Best Animated Feature, Woody, Buzz and the rest of the “ Toy Story 3 ” gang head to the big screen again in “Hawaiian Vacation,” a 3D animated short directed by seven-time Academy Award®-winner Gary Rydstrom.

D reamWorks Pictures has just released the character banners its new suspense-thriller “ Fright Night ,” a re-imagining of the 1985 comedy-horror classic. The individual banners feature the main characters played by Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, David Tennant and Imogen Poots.

C haracter actors Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis join A-Listers Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx, in New Line Cinema's dark comedy “ Horrible Bosses .” In the film, management candidate Nick Hendricks (Bateman) has been logging 12-hour days and eating everything his twisted supervisor Dave Harken (Spacey) dishes out, toward the promise of a well-earned promotion. But now he knows that’s never going to happen.

T he Adventures of Pureza Queen of the Riles is the title of the upcoming movie from Star Cinema topbilled by Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, collectively known as Melason . Other member of the cast includes Pokwang, Gina Pareno, Bentong, Gerard Acao, Bella Flores, etc.

T oday, in honor of Global Smurfs Day, Smurfs fans in 11 cities around the world set a new Guinness World Records title for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Smurfs within a 24-hour Period in Multiple Venues, it was announced today by Marc Weinstock, president, Worldwide Marketing for Sony Pictures Entertainment. The worldwide events were organized by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Pictures Animation in anticipation of the release of The Smurfs® (opening in the Philippines on August 10.)

W arner Bros. gathers an appealing cast led led Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore and Emma Stone in the comedy “Crazy, Stupid Love.” At fortysomething, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Carell) is living the dream—good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his “perfect” life quickly unravels. A udiences who are new to “Green Lantern” might not be aware that Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) is only one of a force of thousands, all of whom have the title of Green Lantern. Foremost among them is Thaal Sinestro, the leader of the Green Lantern Corps, played by British actor Mark Strong (“Sherlock Holmes,” “Robin Hood”). In Warner Bros.' 3D action-adventure, Sinestro mourns the loss of fallen Lantern Abin Sur as strongly as he questions the choice of Hal to take his place; although, according to everything he knows, the ring that chooses a Green Lantern never makes a mistake.

R espected actor Peter Sarsgaard (“Orphan,” “Knight and Day”) stars in Warner Bros.' new 3D action-adventure “Green Lantern” as Hector Hammond, the third-wheel in Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) and Carol Ferriss' (Blake Lively) longstanding on-again, off-again relationship. Hector grew up with them and was a friend, but was always on the outside looking in, having both a desire for Carol and a desire to be Hal. Brilliant but forever failing to meet the unrealistic expectations of his father, he has become a professor at a community college, whose specialty is even more obscure than he is: xenobiology.

S tarring in Walt Disney Pictures' new dramatic comedy “Prom” are six of today's most promising young actresses. They are Aimee Teegarden, Kylie Bunbury, Danielle Campbell, Yin Chang, Janelle Ortiz and Raini Rodriguez. “Prom” portrays the precarious passage from high school to independence as some relationships unravel and others ignite as the big dance approaches. For Nova Prescott (Teegarden), it’s a battle of wills as she finds herself drawn to the guy (Thomas McDonell) who gets in the way of her perfect prom. Fellow seniors Mei (Chang) and Tyler (De’Vaughn Nixon) harbor secrets, while others face all the insecurity and anticipation that surrounds one of high school’s most seminal events. There are hundreds of nights in high school, but there’s only one “ Prom .”

D reamWorks Pictures has just revealed the international teaser poster of “ Real Steel ,” a gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech. In the film, Hugh Jackman plays Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next.

W arner Bros. Pictures’ “The Hangover Part II” woke up to staggering box office receipts as the blockbuster comedy grossed $205 million worldwide as of May 30, the fastest of any comedy to surpass $200-M benchmark. The hit film is expected to continue its global success when it opens in the Philippines on June 8, arriving in cinemas in its original and uncut, R-18-rated version.

C oming off a widely acclaimed performance in last year’s drama “The Town,” Blake Lively now stars as Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan/Green Lantern’s lifelong friend and sometime lover, in Warner Bros.’ new action-adventure “Green Lantern.” “We’ve got explosions and fights and trips to outer space and back, but I love that the movie also has a great sense of fun and a hint of romance about it,” shares Lively. “And the Green Lantern Corps should appeal to women, too—representing virtually every species of alien imaginable, it’s definitely not a men’s-only club.”

P rincipal photography is underway in London on acclaimed filmmaker Bryan Singer’s 3D epic action adventure “Jack the Giant Killer,” with Nicholas Hoult in the title role of Jack, for New Line Cinema and Legendary Pictures. “Jack the Giant Killer” tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

D isney/Pixar has just revealed the international pay-off poster of its highly-awaited animated feature “Cars 2” which you can see here. In the film, star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car.

F or Jack Black, returning to the character of Po was a chance to spend more time with one of his most beloved characters. Thanks to Po, Black had the chance to kick off the 2008 Cannes Film Festival (“Kung Fu Panda” was the first film screened), by leading a parade of marchers dressed in panda costumes.

J ustin Bartha (“National Treasure” films) returns as Doug -- the groom who was stuck on the rooftop of Caesars Palace after his bachelor party – in Warner Bros.’ highly anticipated sequel, “The Hangover Part II.“The first movie has become such a part of popular culture, but I think if anyone can top it, it’s [director] Todd Phillips, and he has,” says Bartha. “Even just reading the script made us laugh so hard, because it just takes these guys so much farther over the edge.”

N ew actor Thomas McDonell stars as the rebel artist student who steals the show in Walt Disney Pictures' new comedy-drama “Prom,” only his second feature film. But because of the buzz surrounding his performance, he was asked to audition for Tim Burton's upcoming film “Dark Shadows” and won the coveted part of young Barnabas Collins, the same character Johnny Depp will play as an adult vampire.

T ake your first look at the character banners of New Line Cinema’s upcoming dark comedy “Horrible Bosses”! The banners feature the individual bosses codenamed Psycho ( Kevin Spacey ), Maneater ( Jennifer Aniston ) and Tool ( Colin Farrell ), plus cameo character Murder Consultant ( Jamie Foxx ).

C oinciding with “Titanic’s” centennial year since sailing, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox and Lightstorm Entertainment jointly announced that James Cameron’s “TITANIC” will be re-released worldwide on April 6, 2012. The release, which marks the 100th anniversary of the Titanic setting sail (April 10th), will present the film in 3D for the first time.

F ilming begins this week on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ “ Dark Shadows ,” which brings the cult classic television series to the big screen under the direction of Tim Burton. The film’s all-star ensemble cast includes Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller, Bella Heathcote, Chloe Moretz, and newcomer Gulliver McGrath.

I n the original X-Men trilogy, the field leader of Professor X’s mutants was Scott Summers, aka Cyclops (James Marsden), who also appeared briefly in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. With “X-Men: First Class” taking place in 1962, though, Scott has yet to be born. So the heroic mantle will fall to another member of the powerful clan – his brother, Alex.

F or a guy in his 30s doing research for a film, going to prom was surprisingly fun. "I didn't know how much I loved prom until I went to five of them this year," jokes Joe Nussbaum, who is director of his own “Prom,” Walt Disney Pictures' new coming-of-age comedy. "It's such an amazingly good feeling. "We walked into a lot of high schools to scout locations, and it can make you feel unnerve,” Nussbaum adds. “You remember it all: the stress, you see kids arguing, or someone walking down the hall looking lonely. And that all comes rushing back. It's not pleasant visiting high school as an adult, and I thought prom would be the same sort of thing. But it wasn't."
