In observance of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, SM City Baliwag, in collaboration with government agencies and institutions, participated in a cleanup drive along the Angat River trench located between Barangay Tibag and Barangay Poblacion, at Baliwag City in Bulacan. Organized by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), the activity aims to increase awareness on the importance of proper waste disposal and the role of the community in the protection and conservation of wetland areas. Together with the volunteers from SM City Baliwag, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and NU Baliwag, the event yielded significant results as the said groups collected the most common types of garbage found on water bodies, such as cigarette butts, food wrappers, take-out containers, metal and plastic bottle caps, fishing nets...

G eorgie Henley returns to Narnia for the third and last time in “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” based on the C.S. Lewis classic children’s book series. Fittingly enough, her very final scenes for director Michael Apted were action packed, typical of the adventure that she’s been on, both on screen and off, playing the delightful Lucy Pevensie who has journeyed far and wide into the magical realm of Narnia. In the third film “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” the story centers on the younger Pevensie siblings Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes), who undertake the voyage of a lifetime. The adventure begins in Cambridge, England, during World War II when the children are staying at the home of their unbearably irritating cousin Eustace Clarence Scrubb (Will Poulter). All three are swallowed into a painting of a beautiful ship out at sea.

T rue Grit is the first movie invite I got from Solar-UIP. They're the one who distribute United International Pictures, Dreamworks and Paramount Pictures' movies here in the Philippines. The screening took place in the Solar Preview Room in that posh Solar-Century Building in Makati City. Their screening room has the capacity of approximately 60 people, it actually resemble the MyCinema at Greenbelt3. Anyway before I head on to the venue, I already read the synopsis so I know what to expect on the actual screening. A ction superstar Jason Statham (“The Transporter” and “Crank” film series) provides the voice of Tybalt, in Touchstone Pictures' new animated comedy “Gnomeo & Juliet” in which Shakespeare’s revered tale gets a comical, off-the-wall makeover featuring garden gnomes as principal characters. Directed by Kelly Asbury (“Shrek 2”) and showcasing both classic and original songs by Elton John, “Gnomeo & Julliet” also features the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as the lovestruck gnomes who have as many obstacles to overcome as their quasi namesakes when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors. But with plastic pink flamingos and thrilling lawnmower races in the mix, can this young couple find lasting happiness?

The 2nd Annual International PEBA Awards is held on   Philamlife Theater , United Nations Ave., Malate, Manila last 27th of December 2009. Red Carpet Ceremony and Press Presentation are conducted prior to the awarding. This year’s theme is “ Filipinos Abroad, Hope of the Nation, Gift to the World” .

A lakdana will be topbilled by tween star Louise delos Reyes as Adana. Her leading men for this project are Paulo Avelino, Richie Paul Gutierrez and newcomer Alden Richards.  Other cast include Jean Garcia, Matthew Mendoza, Jobelle Salvador, Joana Marie Tan, Perla Bautista, Racquel Montesa, Buboy Villar and Ian de Leon. “Si Adana, kapag nagagalit siya, parang lumalabas yung evil side, pero nagagawa lang niya yun kasi napu-push siya, hindi talaga niya gustong maging masama," “Simple lang si Adana, maraming pangarap na hindi natutupad. Mabait, mabait na anak, mabait na apo." said Louise delos Reyes when asked about her role. It will be directed by Mac Alejandre and premieres this January 24, 2011 on GMA-7′s Haponalo block of GMA-7.

E ric Bana was first introduced to American audiences in the title role of Mark “Chopper” Read in the feature film Chopper , which premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and was then released in the U.S. to critical notice after its Australian success. Bana earned awards from the Film Critics Circle of Australia and the Australian Film Institute for his portrayal of Chopper. Bana was seen co-starring in Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down as Delta Sergeant First Class Norm “Hoot” Gibson, one of a group of elite U.S. soldiers, opposite Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor and Tom Sizemore.
