  • Maya was Image Engine’s primary tool. Maya’s scripting architecture made it possible for Image Engine’s R&D team to customise their process. It was used to for the creation of the space rings, droids, the Raven and the environment which Elysium was set in.
  • Motion Builder was used for motion capture and animation of droids in scenes where actors were not available for rotomation. Motion Builder was also used for animation in full digital shots with virtual camera techniques.
  • Fluid interchange between Maya on Image Engine’s side and Softimage at Whiskytree to share massive amount of information. Image Engine did the hard exterior work for the space station while Whisky tree did the soft assets on the interior such as the trees and swimming pool, etc.
